Dr. Scott McKenzie

Originally from Detroit, I grew up in Orlando. After graduating from Boone High School, I attended UCF where I earned two bachelor degrees; business administration and interdisciplinary social sciences.

After UCF, I attended Gonzaga University School of Law in Spokane, Washington. I concentrated in business law during my JD program. Upon graduation, I attended the University of New Hampshire School of Law (then called Franklin Pierce Law Center) for my LLM (post-doctorate) in intellectual property law. Finally, in 2020, I completed my MBA program at Capella University/University of the People.

After completing my law programs, I returned to Seattle where I practiced complex commercial litigation. I have worked on numerous cases for Microsoft, Waste Management, and local public energy firms in the Pacific Northwest.

Feeling the need to come home, I returned to Orlando and started instructing Business Law 1 and 2 at Valencia College in 2007. I thoroughly enjoy the environment here on campus, the students are great, and my colleagues are incredibly professional and supportive.

In my spare time, I enjoy running in 5k/10k charity races and sharing time with family and friends.
