Dr. Yasmeen Qadri

Professor of Education

Dr. Yasmeen Qadri is the Professor of Education and the Education Coordinator at Valencia Community College’s East Campus. She earned her Doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Central Florida in 1994 and also has a Masters in Social Sciences and a Masters in Child Psychology.

Dr. Qadri has presented numerous seminars and workshops at the local, national, and international level on topics relating to multicultural education, cross-cultural training, character education, and teachers training. She has received six Endowed Chair Awards for her exemplary scholarly work and research making it possible for her to present at international conferences. Some of her topics of research were:Ethnogeriatics presented at the National Conference in Washington DC on Aging in America; Teachers as Change Agents of Peace at the World Peace Conference at Mahatma Gandhi University in India, and All Voices Have Value and No Voices Have Value: PJI Model at the World Congress on Deaf Education in Turkey. Dr. Qadri was nominated the NISOD award in 2014 and Sabbatical on My Journey of Peace to Middle East, India, Malaysia, and Indonesia. In May 2004, she was invited as a delegate to the World Congress on Civic Education in Budapest, Hungary where she presented a paper on the importance of community activism. Dr. Qadri represented her college at the 2008 International Conference on Teacher Education in the Muslim World hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the title of her presentation was Teachers as Change Agents: Promoting Peace.

Dr. Qadri iwas the founder and is the Advisor of two student clubs:Valencia Future Educators (VF) and Muslim Ambassadors for Peace (MAP). She has been a r Destinations Facilitator for Great Teachers and an active member and one of the founders of the Peace and Justice Initiative at Valencia College.

Dr. Yasmeen Qadri, is a woman leader, mentor, and an inspirational teacher in her Muslim community. She has presented several workshops on Conflict Transformation in Non-profits, Families, and Schools. She has been featured on radio, television, and local newspaper. She has a passion to teach and has dedicated nearly three decades of her life in preparing teachers to be leaders!
