A. Classroom Policies
o The student will be expected to:
ü Attend all class sessions.
Due to the nature of the course, attendance is required. If you are unable to attend a lecture or lab session of the course, you must notify the Dental Hygiene staff assistant by 8:00 AM the day of the absence or you must inform the instructor prior to the absence. Be prepared to present a physician’s excuse if requested.
Three tardies will be equivalent to one unexcused absence. With three unexcused absences, the student will be dropped from the course. The absence will be determined as excused or unexcused according to the attendance policy in the clinic manual. It is the student’s responsibility to contact the instructor for assignments, handouts and make-up work missed during an absence.
ü Read all required readings prior to class.
ü Late classroom assignments (oral & written presentation & brochure) will have 2 points deducted from the assignment grade for each day the assignment is late.
ü Discussion posts and online assignments are not graded if submitted after the due date.
ü The student is responsible for all material covered or assigned during class or in blackboard.
ü Two projects- one project will be a group project (oral & written presentation) and the second is a radiography brochure. Instructions for projects will be given out in class.
ü Take all exams and quizzes, there will be no make-up quizzes or exams.
ü We ask that there be no cell phones or audible beepers in class. These are very disruptive. The exception would be for an emergency situation that was explained to the professor before class.
